In a Limited Edition, every writing instrument is numbered individually and precious materials are used in even more splendor than in a Special Edition.
Our Limited Editions have two themes. The series Seven Wonders of the World started in 2004. After the Pyramids of Giza, the Colossos of Rhodes, the Temple of Artemis, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Hanging Gardens launched in 2009. Two more will follow . . .
In comparison the Limited Edition series Important Effects on Civilization is relatively young. It started in 2007 with the Evolution of Script and was followed by the Calculation of Times. Collectors all over the world wait avidly to complete their series.
Maki-e is an art of Japanese lacquer paintingknown for its beautiful and artistic work. The work combines the craftsmanship of Pelikan Germany with nearly 170 years of tradition and technology, and Japanese superior Maki-e techniques renowned the world over. The Pelikan logo on the crown, limited edition number and artist’s signature are drawn in by hand with Maki-e techniques on each Pelikan Maki-e limited edition fountain pen.
