edition from Pelikan.
Life on earth has been unfolding in all its unimaginable variety for some 540 million years. The fountain pen recalls this
figure, being produced in a limited edition of 540 instruments. Out-of-the-ordinary materials combined with traditional craftsmanship
make Blue Planet yet another masterpiece produced under the Pelikan name.
This new star that has appeared in the universe of writing instruments emanates an almost ethereal elegance and a quality
of the utmost preciousness. The cobalt blue front section is adorned with a gold-plated sterling silver ring. Into the sleeve,
which is also of sterling silver, a detailed depiction of the earth with its oceans of shining blue is engraved with the highest
artistry, standing out against the anthracite black background of outer space. The filigree pattern of clouds above the earth
is embedded into the protective layer of clear varnish, and is applied with the finest airbrush technique. The overall impression
is harmoniously complemented by guilloched lines of longitude and latitude on the filling knob and the tip of the cap. And
of course the 18-carat gold nib, written in by hand and adorned with elegantly curving rhodium embellishments, shines too.

The case
This noble writing instrument is presented in an exclusive radiantly blue cube symbolising the infinite expanse of space.
Inside it, the fountain pen is embedded in a stylised globe. Each writing instrument of this edition is individually numbered.
