The brass barrel is first lacquered, turned into the desired form, and then polished to a high sheen. The lines are created through an engraving process and are filled with precious metals - palladium for the silver color, and 24 carat gold is used for the gold collection. The last step for every Ductus writing instrument is a coating of clear lacquer which makes the surface not only smooth but also robust.
