Tradition meets outstanding design

Pelikan's classic Pelikano fountain pen wins this year's "red dot design award"

Pelikan's time-tested Pelikano school and junior fountain pen can already look back on an eventful history – and this year, coinciding with its 50th birthday, it has received the "red dot design award 2010" international quality seal.

The red dot is a quality seal for design that is acknowledged worldwide and highly prized in expert circles. In the "red dot design award" international design competition, outstanding design is selected in various product categories by competent expert juries. With more than 12,000 entries from over 60 countries, the contest is one of the largest design competitions in the world.

The Pelikano is marked out by its brand new design look: in its anniversary year 2010, the classic fountain pen appears in the trendy colours red, blue and green, and features a grip profile that incorporates soft components. The front of the new Pelikano fountain pen is transparent, so that the ink level is visible. The stainless steel nib and metal cap are extremely sturdy and will ensure many hours of writing pleasure.

The award ceremony for the "red dot design award 2010" will take place on 5th July 2010. The online exhibition of this year's prize winners also starts on the same day.
