Pelikan Limited Edition wins the Watches, Jewellery & Pens Award

"Hanging Gardens of Babylon" takes first place

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon Special Edition from the long-established Pelikan company won this year's Watches, Jewellery & Pens Award. The premium writing instrument won the award for the best historical icon.

The Watches, Jewellery & Pens Award was awarded for the first time in 2006 by the Arabian Watches & Jewellery Magazine and Pen Magazine. Since then, the object of the award has been the development of the region's industry standards and assessment of the best brand representatives in their respective categories by independent experts from the Middle East. In 2010 Pelikan Middle East & Africa (PMEA) took part in the exclusive award ceremony for the first time and presented the jury with three premium fountain pens, which are all available exclusively in limited editions: Maki-e Seaworld in the "Best Arts & Craftsmanship" category, Fire in the "Best Theme" category and Hanging Gardens of Babylon in the "Best Historical Icon" category. All three products were ranked in the top 3 finalists in their respective categories, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon Limited Edition was even nominated winner of its class.

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon premium writing instrument is dedicated to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It is the fifth writing instrument in the series that makes collectors' hearts beat faster. The fountain pen features an extravagant cap, which depicts the structure of the historical gardens. Flower motifs are engraved on the gold-plated surface. The barrel is elaborately lacquered in dark green, while the fountain pen's front part and end piece have fine gold-plating, emphasizing the superb quality. The premium 18 carat gold nib is available in the widths F, M and B.

The Hanging Gardens series is strictly limited: Pelikan has produced just 410 of these precious handcrafted instruments. A collector's item costs 2950 €.
