Jet Balloon

The Flying Boat (our Handcraft tip of the month) can only start when assisted by the wind. Here we will focus on a Zeppelin that thrusts itself - which means it can be used indoors as it requires no wind.

Düsenballon: Aufbau 1. The drawing patterns (Zeppelin or Balloon) can be printed out and then coloured using Pelikan Opaque or PLAKA colours. Now attach the Zeppelin to the straw. The Balloon is added on the other end of the straw using the sticky tape. (instead of the Zeppelin other "own" creations could be used by designing your own patterns!). The Balloon is then inflated and held closed using thumb and index finger.

Der Ballon saust die Schnur entlang! 2. The Jet Balloon is then adjusted on the string using the straw. Then let go of the end of the Balloon.

Impulse power

The Jet Balloon is sent flying due to the wind being released from the Balloon. A equally strong gust of wind is released in the opposite direction.

The Balloon flies along the string!
