Extra tip: The Sun Symbol

An idea from Daniela Gabor, Eppingen

When Karin has stopped interrupting the class, the sun shines again!

Description:

In Daniela Gabor’s class correct social behaviour is strengthened by using the following idea:

Ms. Gabor provides a means of social orientation for class by hanging a sun symbol on the wall (piece of round card). The rays of the sun are made of name of the children and can be made, for example, from yellow card and affixed with a clothes peg. When the atmosphere in the classroom is harmonious, the sun shines with all its rays. If a child interrupts to the lesson or is obstructive to the other children, Frau Gabor hangs the name of the child in the cloud symbol. As a result of this, the child concerned must answer questions concerning his behaviour.

The following day, Frau Gabor places the name of the child back into the sun symbol.
