Creating effective topics for class in only few steps isn’t always that easy. Especially first and second grade students can be motivated to do cutting and coloring exercises by creative ideas.


The duck with simple mechanics: Diving with only one move.

Furthermore, the children’s fine motor functions are supported and they also receive a playful introduction into the world of mechanics. Moreover, by making the duck "dunk" into the water, the duck seems very alive. As the coloring is left to everyone’s own imagination, lots of funny ideas can be found together in a group.

You need:

A Pelikan paint box K12, a paint brush (size 6+), the download template "Moving animals: Duck", scissors, a pencil and round head fasteners.

It’s as easy as this:

  1. Print out the download template "duck".
  2. Carefully cut out all parts needed along the lines and paint them with water paint.
  3. Put both parts together using the round head fasteners and then have loads of fun with the diving duck.
