Experiencing Colour: painted with opaque paint and decorated with sequins

It's so easy:

For an application of colour, the paint should be diluted strongly. The use of a colour wash will guarantee that the first coat will shine through later in a multitude of shades.

Initially, apply a coat of colour to the Styrofoam and leave to dry well. By and by cover with coats of other colours. Be sure to use the correct colour wash technique. Soon the blocks will be shimmering in many colours.

Alternative: paint a particular pattern as shown in our example with the flower.

Design and decoration

In the next step, the blocks will be adorned with sequins and pearls.

It is easy to fix the sequins to the Styrofoam blocks with pins.

The pins are placed through the holes in the sequins then pushed into the foam. By the way, it is possible to combine – pearls can be placed on top of the sequins. This way of working makes a whole range of design elements possible.

Variation and combination: pearls and sequins are placed on top of each other.
