Mother’s Day: Puzzle

Mothers’s Day Puzzle – a present couldn’t be more personal. Each puzzle piece can be designed individually and the puzzle can be extended limitlessly. There is enough room for all the things a mother could wish for, like baby pictures, drawings or home-made bits and pieces. With our download you can get going straight away: simply print, cut out and transform you ideas.

Here's how:

  1. First print out the download with the template. Transfer the pattern to the piece of card, for example the back of a drawing pad. Tip: use carbon paper, for example, Pelikan Handifilm 205.

  • Cut out the puzzle piece. Make sure that the puzzle pieces fit together well. If necessary, correct the edges. Alternatively, the pieces can be cut from plywood using a fret saw.

  1. Paint the puzzle pieces in Plaka-glazing signal red and Plaka yellow. By using glossy Plaka-glazing and matt Plaka, an interesting gloss/matt contrast is created. Don’t forget to paint the edges. Leave the pieces to dry well.

  • With Wonderliner in gold or silver write a dedication on the front of the puzzle pieces without opening. For example, write “happy mothers’ day”.

  • Find suitable photos, little pictures which you have painted yourself, bits of handicraft to place behind the opening. When cutting to items to size, don’t forget to leave a margin for gluing.

  • Use adhesive tape to fix the photos etc. to the back of the puzzle piece. Then put the pieces togther and use more adhesive tape to keep them in place. All pieces can be joined in this way.
