The opaque paint wheel of fortune is a good way to get to know your opaque paintbox and also an entertaining game for getting started in color theory.

The opaque paint wheel of fortune supplements the Pelikan color theory with one additional building block. With the help of this game, the children will get to know their paintbox better, they will get to try out all the colors and learn the correct names. Moreover, the opaque paint wheel of fortune is suitable for getting started in color theory.

This is what you need:
Pelikan K12 paintbox, short-bristled paint brush (size 10), Colorella duo markers, Wonderliner (silver or red), an empty, clean yoghurt cup, a small screw and a fitting screwdriver, cork tile (alternatively a small wood tile) scissors, Pelifix glue, a divider, a used fineliner or a pencil (as an axis) and our download templates. Note: If you do not have a yoghurt cup and a cork tile, you can also use the color wheel of fortune directly as a game board. The rules on how to play the game can be downloaded as a template, as well!

  1. Begin by printing out the download template. Paint the fields in the appropriate colors. Color the sun, the moon and the stars with markers.
  2. Paint the top wheel in black. After it is dry, draw the arrow on with a Wonderliner (silver or red).
  3. This is how the opque paint wheel of fortune is built together:
    1. First, pin the yoghurt cup onto the cork tile (or alternatively onto a piece of wood), using the small screw.
    2. Draw a circle of the size of the yoghurt cup on the backside of the colored wheel, using the divider. This line is now used as a gluing line for gluing on the yoghurt cup. However, before doing so, make a hole into the color wheel and enlarge the hole with the back of the paintbrush, so that the pencil or the fineliner can turn in it easily, later on. Finally, glue the colored wheel centrically onto the yoghurt cup.
    3. Prick a hole into the center of the black wheel and push the pencil (or fineliner) through. Turn it, while doing so, so that the wheel fits tightly around the pencil. Then draw a small arrow on the edge of the wheel, using the Wonderliner. (see markings).
    4. Now the opaque wheel of fortune is ready to be used and can be placed on the colorful wheel. The pen serves as an axle and should be able to turn easily. The rules of the game can be found on page 2 of the download template..
The opaque paint wheel of fortune is built together in three steps.
