Pelikan K12 Paint Box and Chromatics

Along with the color theory, Pelikan offers the K12 paint box as an overall concept. At this point, we would like to present you our collected materials on this topic.

Primary colors in the CMYK color model

The K12 paint box contains the three primary colors cyan blue, magenta, yellow as well as black (resulting from regulation DIN 5023 given by the German Institute for Standardization, valid since 1989). Based on modern computer and printing technology (CMYK color model), the 12 colors of the paint box are clearly defined by DIN 5023 – even the primary colors magenta, cyan-blue and yellow.
Lessons founded on the national curriculum ask for an adequate use of the professional jargon and consequently the use of primary and secondary colors.
The Pelikan chromatics seize upon these requirements.
This way, the demands of the curriculum can be fulfilled, on the one hand, and on the other the students can remix all colors of the CMYK color model true to the original. Moreover, a direct reference to customary devices in practice can be created (e. g. color printer at home).
