General Information

Introducing the color theory according to the CMYK color model including the relevant teaching aids.

General Information

Pelikan offers the K12 opaque paintbox including the color theory as an overall concept for painting lessons. At this point, we would like to present you our collection of materials for the color theory.

Primary colors of the CMYK color model

The paintbox K12 contains three primary colors: Cyan blue, Magenta red, Yellow and black (Based on the DIN regulation no. 5023, valid since 1989).
In accordance with modern computer and printing technology (the CMYK color model), the 12 colors of the opaque paintbox are defined by the regulation DIN 5023 - even the primary colors magenta, cyan blue and yellow.
A lesson plan that meets the demands of the curriculum should involve adequate terminology and the primary and secondary colors. The Pelikan Color Theory lives up to these standards.
On the one hand, it ensures that curricular requirements are met and, owing to the CMYK color model, it provides the students the opportunity to remix the color shades true to the original. Upon that, it draws on everyday life activities (e. g. using the parents' color printer).
