Pelikan's griffix® learn-to-write system wins the "Good Design Award Japan"
The world's first comprehensive learn-to-write system from Pelikan has been singled
out for distinction again! After the awards already won last year, the international
seal of quality "red dot design award 2008" and the sought-after "ISPA award" of the
International Stationery Press Association, the child-oriented learn-to-write system
is continuing to strengthen its position as an outstanding design product in 2009:
griffix® has just received Japan's only international design award, which has been awarded
annually by the "Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization" (JIDPO) since 1998.
This award underlines the renowned design recommendation of the expert jury and symbolises
high quality, excellent functionality, user-friendliness and products that are both
perfectly executed and innovative. The Good Design Award rewards and endorses the
Pelikan company in its innovative ideas and brilliant inventiveness.
The four-stage learn-to-write system from Pelikan features an ergonomic grip zone
with optimal support for thumb, index and middle finger, providing excellent starting
conditions for learning to write. The complex motor skills required for writing are
supported and shaped by a wax marker in the first stage of the system, by a pencil
in the second, an ink pen - the fountain pen's little brother - in the third, and
finally by a fountain pen in the fourth stage. The different pen shapes encourage
the children's development with generous freedom of movement, helping them to write
accurately and tidily without tiring. The colourful design of the griffix® system, highlighted again by the "Good Design Award Japan", will bring fun and variety
to every pencil case.
