Another Spanish style work of art: Pelikan expands its Toledo range with the sunshine yellow Special Edition Toledo M 710 yellow.
Since 1931, the Pelikan company has used the intricate Spanish art of damascening to produce exclusive fountain pens. The premium Toledo range will be expanded by another colour highlight this summer: the Special Edition Toledo M 710 yellow will bring a touch of Spanish sun to your desk.
Anyone who owns a Toledo owns a small artwork in its own right! Because every Toledo is a unique piece, richly decorated and handcrafted.
The Toledo M 710 yellow fountain pen impresses with an 18-carat rhodium nib, high quality resin material and, of course, its luminous yellow colour, which lights up the cap and front part of the piston fountain pen. Naturally, it also features the Pelikan pattern that is typical of the Toledo range, carefully engraved into the fine sterling silver sleeve using the time-tested art of damascening. During this process the motif is scribed into the silver surface, then a thin gold sheet is placed on top and finely embossed with the help of a small hammer. By heating the shaft to a high temperature the silver surface turns black, while the gold starts to shine. The high complexity of this technique naturally means that each writing implement is unique.
The Special Edition Toledo M 710 yellow will be available to purchase in a high quality wood case from August 2010 for a price of 790 €.
