Good ideas are often complicated to put into practise – not our football sand bags though! This simple handicraft idea which is a load of fun for children is not only quick to implement, it also strengthens the hand for learning to write.

To make the football sand bags only a few household articles are necessary. Tools: spoon and scissors.
Place the balloon over the end of the funnel and fill in the sand. The sand must be "massaged" into the balloon.

With the aid of the funnel, the sand is filled into the balloon. It is import that the sand is slowly massaged into the balloon otherwise it cannot be filled properly. Then tie a knot into the nozzle of the balloon and cut off the end.

Now the second skin: The nozzle of the second balloon must be cut off to make it possible to pull it over the first one which is filled with sand. The second balloon is pulled open as far as it will go and then pulled over the sand bag, covering the knot. This steps requires a little skill. For a better durability, pull a third skin over the bag.

A second balloon is cut open and pulled over the bag. A balloon is painted with Wonderliners.

To finish, paint the bags using the Wonderliners. Try a funny face or a football. Thanks to the wide variety of shades, your designs can be really colourful.

From balloons and Wonderliners, sand bags with little footballs or funny faces can be created for exercising your hand.
