As the year slowly draws to an end nature starts to reveal plenty of autumn colouring. Pelikan's Teacher Info again this month wants present another stylish stone artwork that this time suits the autumn atmosphere.

When cleverly combined, Pelikan PLAKA colours can create beautiful autumn colour effects.

The basic form is drawn on a stone and later coloured in using Pelikan PLAKA colours. Because Pelikan's PLAKA colours are so easy to apply, small pieces of art are created within minutes. To finish off, a coat of protective varnish is added to protect the paint.

It's so easy:

  1. First start by drawing the cat figures on the stone by using the pencil.
  2. Paint on the White head and the Grey line across the head using a fine paintbrush. Tip: If only one brush is being used to paint many colours, start off with the brightest one and work your way down to the darkest. This prevents colours being influenced by the ones used before.
  3. Now we come to the colouring of the cat's hump. In the first step this is painted completely Grey. After the colours have dried, continue by painting the cats tail. After doing so, do not dip the brush into the Black colour, but instead wipe the remains on the brush onto the cats back. This creates a fur effect.
  4. After leaving to dry again, draw lines for the paws and the chin using the colour Silver. We recommend using a fine brush for this. Also paint the eyes and nose of the cat.
  5. Finally a coat of Pelikan PLAKA varnish is added. Now this cat can protect itself against the harsh autumn weather. Pelikan's PLAKA varnish protects colours against sunlight and physical damage.

Have fun, creating your own little pieces of art.
