Extra tip: The Homework Barometer

Original idea from Mrs. Bensch, Minden

Mrs. Bensch uses a chalk line to counter disturbances in her lessons. This method, so she claims, is very effective with the older pupils.

Description:

Three circles are drawn in a vertical row on the blackboard. Alongside the lowest circle "normal homework" is written; alongside the second "additional tasks 1"; and alongside the third "additional tasks 2". If disturbances occur in the lesson, start to draw a line slowly from the first to the second circle. As the lesson continues, it may not be necessary to reach the second circle. Here the pupils always have the option of receiving normal homework or an additional workload.

Recommendation:

As we are dealing with a collective punishment here, you should be cautious with the dosage. Individual pupils could possibly feel unjustly treated, and justifiably so.
